David Halberstam (April 10, 1934 -- April 23, 2007) was an American Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author known for his early work on the Vietnam War, his work on politics, history, the Civil Rights Movement, business, media, American culture, and his later sports journalism.
I'm way late to the game when it comes to this medium but I'm catching up. It's crazy that I represent only the 29th viewer of this remarkable speech. It's actually kind of funny and prescient that what he says in the middle of the speech - that people who want to listen only to listen to sound bites begin to think only in sound bites - is actually at work here. Because clearly no one wants to invest an hour of their time to view this speech. An hour of pure truth from a great American.
