The Japanese subtitles represent the way they pronounce the same names. Their language is broken down to syllables, not letters. In a way the English spelling is actually more accurate.

because no dubbing company has bought the rights to this, and i dont think there is any reason to as it is only one small special, it's not like they're going to air it on tv, it's just a one off kids special for the japanese children to teach them moral laws, and as goku is a great role model, they are more likely to listen! And it's not as if they're going to have a DVD release for it either cos it woul;d just do bad. So basically for a dubbing company - bad call.
