On this weeks "Make Me a Millionaire," 12 lucky contestants were awarded a total of $184,000 in cash and prizes.
Sam Ginsburg, a retiree from Carmel, came up big on this weeks California Cool segment. Ginsburg sent his daughter Helen to play as his proxy, and with her help won $80,000. Helen is a big winner herself, winning $57,000 several years back. Even though good luck runs in this family, Helen has very specific instructions from her father, and followed them all the way to a big win. Helen wasnt sure of her fathers plans, but shes hoping her father would share some of the windfall with her and her sister.
Two out of three contestants playing the Lucky Penny game this week won new cars. Todd Smith and Luis Balderas, both from Sacramento, each won the brand new Chevy Malibu, and have the option of taking the cash equivalent. Smith, who got his winning ticket as a stocking stuffer, plans to take the cash and buy a boat for his family. Balderas, a student in desperate need of wheels, was excited about the new car. I really need the car!, said Balderas.
Desiree Cazares, a certified nursing assistant from Willows, won $15,000 on the Millionaire segment and cant wait to start house shopping. She and her husband have always wanted to own a home, and her winnings will help her realize her dream. When asked what type of home she would like, Cazares was thinking big: maybe Ill buy a ranch.
With the Make Me a Millionaire progressive jackpot increasing $200,000 each week, next weeks Millionaire game contestant will have a chance to win $3 million.
