Kaavadi Sindu

The twin sisters Saanika and Raadhika( muscat sisters) commenced learning the classical Indian dance form of Bharatnatyam from the tender age of four. The committed tutelage of their Guru Srimati Premila Ramesh and their active participation in various dance productions of Nrityanjali ( A dance scholl based in Muscat) namely Panchanayika, Bharathi and Stree Rama Nirikshanam over the last nine years have given them the right exposure and experience . Art runs in their family traversing back to four generations, who were performing musicians of repute . Saanika and Raadhika have also presented several dance programs in various forums in Oman and have won prizes in dance competitions.

The twin sisters also keenly pursue their interest in Western Music and play the Violin and Piano respectively . They are class VIII students of Indian School Al Ghubra, Sultanate of Oman.

In this Video they are performing a Kavadisindhu a light hearted song set in a folk lore tune singing the praises of Lord Muruga, son of Lord Shiva. Kuravanji is a type of dance-drama distinctive to the Tamils. As performed for an entertaining objective, its emphasis is balanced between the classical & traditional.

in tamil a language which is as sweet as honey..
