  • Yes, what is the name of the hymn being sung. It is very nice, though very unfamiliar.

  • Re: Hymn name - the tune is 'Rouen' see below for details of words:

The text was especially composed for St Peter's Eastern Hill by former Bishop of St Arnaud, Allen E. Winter. It was used at the Patronal High Mass as a Procession hymn - but I have stitched various parts of the liturgy to it as a 'backing track'. For reasons of length I had to cut one verse out. I've included the text in previous comments (8 months ago) - see 'all comments'

    Glad you enjoy it!

  • Type Scoto Catholic in your search bars and you will see that the Calvinist Reformed Presbyterian Church of Scotland which is an official member of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches(Presbyterian and Congregational)does have an organised movement that supports this within the Reformed tradition. Also the original Geneva Bible had the Apochrypha as a section between the 2 Testaments.

  • I love the majic trick where during the censing of the altar the bishop takes of his hat folds it and then picks it up and its a book and later suddnely its a hat again which he places on his head.

    Truely a divine mystery!

  • What was the occasion? Why so many bishops? Was it a dedication of a new church building or something like that?

  • What is this beautiful hymn? and in which hymnal may I find it?

  • I have to know the name of this hymn! Please tell me promptly!

  • What's the name of this hymn? I'm Roman Catholic, but I still think you guys' church preserves many of our customs.

  • After many years of observation (almost 15 to be exact) my wife and I were confirmed in the Episcopal Church this past Mother's Day. We have been Christians for over 30 years. We have journeyed from Baptist through many other denominations only to find the Anglican worship to be paramount among Christian Churches. The worship along with their Reformed Theology makes for a tradition next to none. Being Anglo-Catholic-Protestant, and Puritan-Calvinist is a lost breed in this Day and Age...peace

  • Many thanks for this. There are details to quibble about but it captures the feeling of Anglo-Catholic worship especially with that hymn being sung. And yes, it's nicer than mainstream RC in many places but Pope Benedict is trying to make it more like this again.
