The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992-2009) Theme Song

This is the previous theme, before the March 1, 2010—May 28, 2010 theme debuted which is essentially the Jay Leno Show theme with some interesting modifications. On June 7, 2010 a brand new theme was introduced by an all new Tonight Show Band led by Rickey Minor.

Performed by ME with a KORG TRITON EXTREME keyboard. (Gerry Etkins uses a Triton too, right?)

This was the original theme written by Branford Marsailes. Jay didn't particularly like it , but part of the deal with Marsailes was that HIS theme would be used. When Marsailes left the show, Leno wanted Kevin Eubanks to write a new theme song, but NBC said "No" - the show was doing well with the old theme, don't rock the boat. When Leno got the 10 PM show he was allowed to have Kevin write a new theme. They're keeping it until the new bandleader is hired after Eubanks leaves.

@sirnim Hey, can you re-create the closing theme song that Leno had from 1992 til like 2009 i think it was... It was a mellow sounding song with a beautiful saxophone.. I really like it. Its a pretty song. I can't find it anywhere to listen to it. Thanks! I'd appreciate it!

@GQmodelFace I believe it was called "Kevin's Country" or something like that, penned by Eubanks... One of the few trombone-centric songs you would hear on TV. I only know how to play the first 30 seconds or so of it, since that's how long the credit roll usually lasted...but stay tuned for it on my YouTube channel!

I think Leno should do what's right and leave the network. He agreed to give the show to Conan and by taking it back, it's just going to make him look like a complete jerk

@ltldoc619 He should have moved to another Network and competed with Conan in the same time slot.. that would have proved who the better man was without p-o-ing the Conan fans who never seem to forget or forgive anything.. the fact that Jay is the number one Late night guy again proves something I believe...... nobody ele's ratings come close..... If Johnny and Ed came back from the beyond and did a show.. then you would see the highest ratings ever.
