Influenced by barber747, a few other users, and my YouTube surfing for them, I made this video consisting of promos, plugs, and commercials for and from the "World Premiere" of Fun House, supposedly aired on Labor Day Weekend of 1988. According to the promos, Chicago (and maybe other areas) premiered Fun House in October.
However the case may be, there were some interesting material that aired:
Bubble Yum
Starting Lineup Baseball Figurines
Super Golden Crisp Cereal
Spooky Fruit/Space Shapes Fruit Snacks
Smurf Magic Berries Cereal
Life Savers Fruit Juicers
Oreo Big Stuf
Fun House Promo (on WGN in Chicago)
Walt Disney Word (Featuring some of the Huxtables)
Kentucky Fried Chicken
Jewel (Take a New Look (at an old friend))
Pillsbury Microwave Side Dishes
grape-nuts
Old Spice
Celozzi-Ettleson Chevrolet (Where you always save more money)
Bert Weinman Ford
*batteries not included VHS
Public Insurance (It's no problem)
Highland Superstores
American Cancer Society (sponsored by Anacin)
Cut-Rite Wax Paper
Al Piemonte Ford (Still $100 down today)

There will be some repeats and modifications on some of them.

Enjoy, especially to my Chicagoland viewers.

If you want to watch the actual episode though, generalflavor has it.

  • I remember the premiere of fun house. Are you from the Chi thewhammy83?

  • @rodney1279 No. I used to be in an area where I can watch The Price is Right at 10 am on Ch.2, Jeopardy! at 3;30 and Wheel at 6;30 on Ch. 7, and Fun House at 4:30 on Ch. 9.

Actually, I am from the Chi and I still associate these times with these shows. So yes I am.

  • I can't believe JD Roth was only 20 years old hosting this show.

In the Walt Disney World commercial, it looks like I see (bad quality permitting) Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Keshia Knight Pulliam, and Tempestt Bledsoe.

  • @barber747 When making this video, I thought I saw Malcolm, Keshia, Tempsett, and Phylicia. But since most of the scenes include Theo, Rudy, and Clair individually and collectively, we may have to rule Vanessa out.

  • Did the Superstation feed carry Fun House?

  • @allnewtpir I do not know. I didn't even know about WGN having a Superstation until the mid-1990s. The only Superstation I knew about was TBS.
