Stranding is the new Capture

Marine parks now will use strandings as a way to shoehorn animals into their breeding programs. Many attempt to justify keeping rescued animals in captivity, so they can continue using them for their breeding programs, or for performing.

Morgan is exhibit A.

Kshamenk is good example. He was "stranded." The reason why they took him in...He was sunburned! What the heck?!

I agree with you 100%!!! It's like kidnapping someone's kid! They know where her family is yet they are keeping her. Seaworld saw a young girl orca to breed and they need different genes so they stuck their fingers in and now look where Morgan is!!

Here's something to think about. There is a huge outcry over the exploitation of that tribe on the Andaman Islands. They call it the "Human Zoo" How can you be so against that, but look at these animals who were forced away from their families as babies and bred repeatedly? My dad said "Human lives have more value over animals, and if you can't see that than there's something wrong with you." Bullshit! They are no less then us! The only difference is they don't have morals. That's it!

i recently make a video based on the HUNGER GAMES on the slaughtering in Taiji. I think the situations in the book and what is happening to animals now are really alike - children being taken from their home and treated in unnecessarily ways for entertainment. the only difference is that in the book, the children are humans. how can people hate the Capitol (as in marine parks in the book), & still think Sea World is "humane"?!!

The funny thing is that the dolphinarium in the Netherlands does in fact rehabilitate and releases stranded Cetaceans under the name of SOS dolfijn. They also have some porpoises in captivity that could not be released.

But as you said as an last resort. Now here comes the most interesting thing. They have probably released dozens of Cetacean that where in a far worse condition than Morgan but did survive. But of course a small poises is not worth a penny so there was no reason to keep them ass they did with Morgan. I know that I really have not made a point but I just gave some info about the Dutch dolphinarium.

Continued.. The Orcas are born into the order and do not have to establish where their position is so why these parks feel they have to lie to people is beyond me. Wish I could just go and free them all like in Free Willy. Great video.

Totally agree with you 1000%. They knew what they were doing when they were"rehabilitating" Morgan. They know they needed to make her dependent upon them so she should have to be put into the Park instead of back in the wild. They all SHOULD be ashamed of themselves and they give BOGUS excuses that this is how they "play" and that they are establishing "order" amongst the orcas. If Morgan was able to be with her family she could resume her place that she had when she got separated for4m them.

Agreed 110%!!! Kshamenk is also an example of a "stranding" that couldn't be returned to the wild! It's a smoke and mirrors way of getting fresh blood into the captive community! It's a shame the judge either didn't realize that OR was paid a lot of money to make the decision it made! Just my opinion!

I hate when marine/animal parks use the excuse "research" to justify why they more-than-willingly deprive animals of their natural ability to take care of themselves. We've learned so much from these animals in the past century, but now it's just becoming a perfect example of human greed at its worst- our consistent want for more, more, more. It makes me angry that SW got a hold of Morgan and basically turned her in to the devil's authority instead of putting her back where she should be. :/
