    Trakovsky is sooooo underated, he like many soviet artists were victims of the regime, he had to wait several years till the Goskino (the soviet film board) gave him the okay to do this film and of course he regularly had to deal with the censorship, harrasment, and politics.

    I honestly believe that if he was working in a western country with proper financing and creative freedom he could've been as big as Kubrick or Hitchkock .... an absolute genius.
