  • This is absolutely beautiful - please put some more on youtube of this !!!

  • I like what this guy does.. all the extra things make it his own. It'd be lame if he just did things how everyone expected him to do it

  • very dreamy..:)

  • Absolutely loved it!

  • I do remember hearing in the summer of 2006 while house painting and listening to NPR, when O'Reley was talking about his Elliott Smith cover album, I really dug what he hAD to say about Elliott Smith, his music, and why to him the songs where so profound and moving to him that he felt he had to make an album of Smith's material. He said loved the uniquely "Elliott Smith" song structure, talking in particular about 'speed trials' and 'oh well, okay.' He made a point to say he did it out of love

  • @futoncat i don't know. i mean, i personally don't love it either, but i think it adds his own personal touch on these songs. but yeah, i tend to agree that with elliott, less is more.

  • @ruecks you're right, he could easily do a straightforward rendition of the song, but that isn't what he is doing it for, and believe me, he respects the artist, otherwise he wouldn't be doing it. He was, and is, a classical concert pianist first, and he hosts From The Top, a syndicated NPR program, which features young artists from about 10 to 16 years of age.

  • I think this o'riley guy needs to calm down with all the extra stuff he adds. He's going way overboard.

  • He really does.

  • Amazing.... Glad found this vid : )
