The beginning of a new project. Removing the stock 60hp 1.5L SOHC engine and automatic transmission. The whole process took 2 hours and 10 minutes because of the facilities that were available to me. Thanks Mike.

  • One hour and 40 minutes. I started on it after the shop closed at 6:30 PM. I cleaned up, pushed it outside, locked up and made it 12 miles home - before 9:00 PM.

...granted that was years ago, and I still haven't finished putting it back together. :P

  • If it was a 90 colt GL it had 91 horsies. :) I did a lot of research on the stock 4g15 block. Tried to turbo it and failed miserably.

  • yes, but it was an auto, and the 60hp # comes from wheel horsepower numbers, not cranshaft mfr specs. Either way, the 1.5L SOHC isn't a great turbo candidate.

  • Oh...yeah I can't get those kinds of numbers. Thanks for the info! Great videos btw. I really appreciate somebody taking the time to do all this. I believe a person off the street could do this just by watching the videos. Props.
