Many thought The Kingston Trio's Decca recordings were rather flat in comparison with those from Capitol. This one is the exception. "Stay Awhile" from the Album, self titled 1965. Stay Awhile was reissued on a re- mastered CD in 1994 on the Folk Era label.

  • It's fun to hear them sing about their friends, one of the Clancy Bros, lol. They all ran in the same circles. I was raised on this music, my dad being a huge fan. This version of the Trio, was always my favorite, Nick Shane, Bob Reynolds and John Stewart. I really miss those guys, this kind of music. Thanks for this great sounding recording post.

  • Hi aterseraph: I'm pleased you enjoy this. I agree about the Clancy Brothers, also one of my favs. Thanks for stopping by. Dave

  • As best as I can recall, The Trio was pleased with Capitol record and Capitol was happy with them. Decca wanted to be a big-time player, so they threw a lot of money the Trio's way. Adio, boys!

  • @mcbuddha1689 I think you are right mc. I can remember a local DJ back then saying it was a BIG contract!! Thanks for stopping by. Dave

  • The first album for Decca: Nick, Bob & John got me into the trio. I worked back from there. I always loved the first album and this one too (Stay Awhile). Thanks for posting.
