Been a while since you posted this vid. Wondered how your training has come along. More so curious if you have lost your youthful flare? ie, blade twirling. I only ask, as I had a friend who was studying kendo and pulled some flare on me while sparring and broke his finger when i closed in on him and blocked his twirl. Best be is to keep a firm grip at all times as a skilled opponent will punish you for ... arrogance :) keep up the good work

Not to be a snob but...although that stuff is cool looking and all, it'd be completely worthless in any combat/practice. Just an example if you're swinging around a sword rapidly with a few fingers...someones going to tap that right out of your hands.

@joet0390 cold steel ones on amazon are about 20 dollars. They dont break. You could get a cheaper wooden one...but you'd have to replace it rather quickly so you might as well shell out the extra 8-10 bucks.

I'm actually quite impressed by the speed and control of the slashes. I've posted a free style vid myself that starts out with a thrust.

@Moonsummit Thats such a good one.

The technique was ok but the stance was a bit off,,,,,, it is as if you are trying to imitate a ninja who has had training but lacked in obedience,,,,,,

@zeonicninja Hey, i saw you freestyle and it's pretty cool 'cause it seems you mixes different styles of sword handling and stances. For instance, i saw you hold your bokken behind your back as a ninja, you also hold it at Iaïdo stance. And i'm agree with Saitohkiyohiru: You seem to have a natural talent at swordsmanship. You should continue to develop your own style and don't pay attention of dumbasses.

cool technique
Cool since It's freestyle. I would understand since you are not claiming to be a sword practitioner. I also see that you have what I would call natural talent. If you will have proper sword training, I believe you would be a good swordsman. A little comment though, with the turning of the sword, it is dangerous practice to turn it with the thumb on the blade side. I manage to turn the blade which ever way I want with out having to sacrifice the thumb. I'm sure you could do it too.

great it so nice to see that you have knowledge of the arts. but you may want to develop a more strick technique becuase with an actual katant that would be nearly impossible to do unless you get a custom one i suggest you get a training katana (dulled) and practice with that. and your bokken and in time you will be able to master the technique you are using now!!! good job!!! Ganbatte!!!
