@panadevulpe Oh, I forgot to mention... when using a uv filter with this particular lens, you'll protect it from collecting dust on the outside of the front element, NOT behind it. Again, the method in this video demonstrates how to remove the dust that collects behind the front element.
@kellyhuffaker It's completely risky, but if you have the right tools and refuse to pay to have it cleaned, this is the way to go! Doesn't look too difficult. I'm sure your first time will take the longest, but as you continue to do so, you'll get better and better and use less time. Not like you'll need to clean the lens this way after every use. Haha.
@panadevulpe Dust will find other ways of entering the lens. Like, when you zoom in and out, the lens will act as a vacuum and suck dust in through the sides. Ppl call this lens a dust magnet, but it's obviously not difficult to clean, as long as you're careful, patient and clean it in a dust-free, well lit space. :)
