  • Hi Shawn, have a quick question.

    I never developed arches, (flat feet....extremely flat). How does this affect my balance and swing overall. I'm assuming that my weight will feel different in my feet than what you feel from the address position all the way through to the finish.

    Does this sound right or will flat feet actually not affect anything at all? Have you ever coached anyone with flat feet and did you have to make any adjustments?

    Ty once again for your time and great, great vids.

  • @Bladnaster No problem with the flat feet; you will still feel the centre of gravity of the body and will be able to balance yourself as effectively; the best drill for this is the "Golf Pro Lesson great balance drill" video; Shawn

  • Shawn, do you have in recommendations regarding golf swing video analysis software for use at home?

  • yes; inexpensive and solid is the "C swing" system

    about $100.00...

  • wonderful and eye-opening. the center of gravity moves BACK just before impact. since i began keeping the right heel down through impact, i could sense this shift in the COG away from the target right before impact and it was somewhat unnerving. nice to have the evidence to validate this sensation and ease my worries. Thanks clemshaw!!

  • Fun to have one less thing to worry about! :)

    Thank you for the comment! Shawn

  • Hey Bob; Great question!

    Yes, it would go to the 4th circle to the outside; beyond that, you would need to take a step as you would have lost the center of gravity so much it would cause you to fall over...Shawn

  • Hey Shawn - Great information as always.

    My question is, what would the graph look like if you didn't have a perfect swing. Would the red and blue lines go on the feet? outside the top thick black line if you're too forward?

    I find that I can shift my weight too far forward and at the end of the follow through my weight's on the outside of my foot.

    Thanks -

    Bob

  • Hi Greg; thank you for the great questions!

    1-If you overturn, you will loose your balance; balance is the judge of range of motion;

    2-Yes, this is the bracing power of the swing in action;

    3-Yes; the brace is the support system for the head; see "golf pro lesson Downswing weightshift" and "Golf Pro Lesson 2008 Golf Swing review" part 1 and 2" as well as the "One leg swing" and the "tilted Spiral" part 1, 2 and 3; #3 has great insight on how correct target perception help keep the head back;
