I think it sometimes comes down to a choice between doing what's fair and doing what's more likely to result in gold. It's not always fair to the gymnasts who spend their lives working for one moment. Then again, some really talented gymnasts are deserving of second chances, like Gusu or Zamo so you can argue it both ways

@ants2876 And she definitely had grace and style that Simona didn't, but Simona was incredibly consistent and had incredibly difficult gymnastics on some of her routines. She was definitely more accomplished, but that might have been a little bit due to Octavian's dislike of Alexandria.

@ants2876 Good point about Millo. But didn't she qualify fair and square? As far as your comment about Simona being more talented than Alexandria, I don't know because I haven't seen the latter much at all, but the media at the time were comparing her, not Simona, to Nadia, which makes me think she had a lot of unfulfilled potential.

@ants2876 You make very, very good points about Simona's worthiness to be in the all-around. I agree with you she totally deserved to be there but so did Alexandra. This is so difficult because Gina and Millo also qualified, but in my opinion weren't quite as talented . Simona was definitely more accomplished, and possibly more consistent than Alexandria, but the latter might have had more difficult, more artistic skills.
