Oh hai! My name is Burch (A13630969)! I came to the Philadelphia Animal Control shelter on July 20, 2011 because my family could no longer afford to care for a pet. The economy, I suppose. My owners reported that I was around 2 years old, but the folks here at the shelter think I'm closer to 5 or 6 and say I have the heart of a puppy! I'm a honey-golden brindle color with handsome brown eyes, yes I admit it, I am handsome! I LOVE to romp and play outside in the grass and I think humans are the best thing since jarred peanut butter! They are so fun and fascinating. I love to try to fit my big old head in their laps so they can scratch my ears. I'd really prefer to be with my family rather than living in a kennel so I'm hoping to find a new foster or adoptive home soon. They say that its pretty obvious that I lived in a home because I appear housebroken. I also know basic commands like "sit", but am hoping to learn more tricks so I can show them off. I'm very food motivated to training will be a breeze. I have no issues with basic or advanced handling and no issues regarding food. I didn't pay any attention to the cats here at the shelter and though I was excited to see the dogs, I was fairly appropriate when meeting them once I got my excitement out. If you have resident dogs at home, please bring them down to meet me so make sure they like me as much I like them! Families with children under 10, please bring them to meet me as well.
