See, the worst part of this for me isn't even her voice, which is brilliant and very theatrical and perfect for live theatre, but it's that damn flesh covered leotard she's wearing. It's too loose and that big hole in the back is awful. Bad costume designer. And I wish she was doing more with her face, because I'm just not sure how well it'd play to people past the first few rows.

i took my 6 and 4 y/o niece and nephew to this. i showed them the movie before and during they were oh is she ariel? i was say yes thats her. and during the transformation they absolutely loved it they thought it was the coolest thing in the world. the joys of being a kid :)

@cooliomedia well u have to think about the size and bulk of the costume. she only has a small amount of mobility

@JudasGaga132 Why not, in the production at the Muny a man was playing Ursula and I also believe in the production in Israel and plus the animators for this character use an overweight drag queen as their model.
