Out to Sea with the Nightsailers - The group of international architect students from the summer '07 Erasmus Project - "Workshop in Wood" - at Hopsjø celebrated the end of their stay on Hitra with a trip to Frøyfjorden on board The Nightsailers Club's two gavel boats - Buabruket (1910) and Barmfjordbruket (1927).
This '07 workshop was organized through NTNU (Norges Teknisks Naturvitenskapelige Universitet) in cooperation with the Hopsjø Foundation (Hopsjøstiftelsen) where the participants designed and built a structure for use during the annual Hopsjø Days Festival (Hopsjødagene).
The Nightsailers Club (Nattseilerne Forening), founded by Tor Bugten in 1990 for the purpose of restoring and preserving the traditional wooden boats of the mid-Norwegian coast, is closely associated with the Hopsjø Foundation at Melandsjø where it makes its home port.
