Deus Ex (2000) was widely praised for its melodious and ambient music which incorporates a number of genres, such as classical, jazz, and techno.

The soundtrack of Deus Ex was extolled by critics for aptly complementing the gritty and haunting atmosphere predominant throughout the game.

All listed tracks were composed by Alexander Brandon, Dan Gardopee, Michiel van den Bos and Reeves Gabrels. A compact disc of the Deus Ex soundtrack was only included in the "Game of the Year" edition and is not available for separate purchase, but all tracks are readily available on the internet. Originally only thirty tracks were included with the re-release, with tracks thirty-one through forty-one considered as extras.

During play, the music will change to a different iteration of the current song based on the player's actions. For instance, this usually occurs when the player starts a conversation, engages in combat, or transitions to the next level.

  • @TheStevooooh some say its not just a game, its a message

  • @florianfan2008 well there are some similarities but not to many to consider but the same guy who started deus ex was the same project lead for the original system shock (but both are fantastic game series anyway)

  • @florianfan2008 maybe bioshock infinite once it comes out. the original might be considered better than DX but it doesn't have enough NPC's- there's only like 5 characters in the game

  • @TheStevooooh silly

  • @Fritsie93

i played System shock 2, i didnt really like it. The story line wasnt intriguing, there was absolutely no allied or neutral characters to talk with etc etc.

  • @florianfan2008 System Shock 2 > Deus ex imo, but that's just an opinion

  • At this point in the game it really takes on a haunting theme. When you listen to this song you really get the idea of what could have been. But it still reminds you that this is how it is...how it really happened.

  • "I lost my virginity here" Thanks a lot, i really, REALLY wanted to know that.

  • *looks in mirror* "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR..." *alt+f4*
