In 1898, a brief conflict with Spain, that lasted less than four months, marked a turning point in American and World History. The American defeat of the Spanish indicated the transition that was taking place -- the decline of Spain, and other European colonial powers, and the rise of the United States in the century that would eventually become known, in the words of Henry Luce, as the American Century.

  • @allhistories- thank u very much 4 putting up these documentaries on utube! i've heard of Manilla, and about Spanish-American war, but i never knew bout it till now. this is absolute saddenning! there is so much value to learning bout history! the value is learning how we r as ppl, and wat 2 be aware of so that we do not repeat the darkness of the past!
