The first Montrose album was released in late 1973, but Van Halen was active years before, and featured a pretty cool lineup in 1970 that had Eddie Van Halen singing lead vocals. Hagar was 26 years old on the first Montrose album, he was born in 1947. But I do agree with you on this: I think that Montrose album was his best work. He never quite fit in with Van Halen's sound, at least not like Dave does. I like Hagar... just not in Van Halen. Stay frosty my friends.

Dave was great in his youth. Now, not so much. He sounds like a cat some times. Charisma? He had tons. Now, again, not so much. And Eddie is selfish dick.

Alex is still Alex , his style of drumming is a s familiar to me as any voice. Not many drummers can speak with the kit .John Bonham had it , Ringo it too but in a far more subtle stryle .Great drummers can do that . Alex gets it like few others

Van Halen album is great to hear. Van Halen is Van Halen. Should they have done what they did to Michael Anthony? Maybe not but it's Eddie's band and what he says goes. Just glad to hear them doing something. Let's hear another new one.
