7 Points To Follow Before Choosing a Home Based Business
1) Unique Product: Do NOT choose products already saturated in the market such as juices, vitamins, nutritional products. These make it hard to make substantial income. Look for something you're passionate about and that appeals to a large number of people to create a strong foothold and increase your chances for Success.
2) Support Network: Unless you're an expert already, you need to surround yourself with Industry Leaders and Top Income Earners who can support you through the process of learning internet marketing. A sponsoring consultant or mentor is also a great idea. A forum provides a great platform to share successes and failures and learn from others mistakes. Does the company offer ongoing training in the form of conference calls, webinars or live streaming video?
3) Quality Marketing System: You could have the best product in the world, but if now one sees it you don't make sales and you don't make money. Does the company offer pre-designed websites that you can customize? What about pre-written followup emails? How about a call center to assist you in closing your sales?
4) Solid Company Management: Do they have a track record? Do they have previous experience at being successful. What is their reputation within the industry? Always trust your gut about how you feel about company management. If you feel like they're a little fly by night and you're worried that one day you're going to wake up and they're going to have taken all the money from the company and taken off to the Bahamas, then that's not a good thing. Look for long term vision.
5) Global Reach: Can the company expand beyond the United States. Look for products that could expand internationally... like markets in Asia, India, the UK, Australia... I prefer information based products or downloadable products because those can be sold and downloaded over the internet in any country you want. There's lots of room for global expansion in the information niche.
6) Compensation Plan: How are you going to get paid and how much are you going to get paid for your work? Look for big upfront money that allows you to fire your boss quickly and that offer good residual income. Is the comp plan so confusing that you cant understand it. then don't do it because no one else is going to either. I prefer big ticket compensation of $1000 and up per sale. This gives you momentum very quickly and gets you out of your job, replaces your income, and starts to build a substantial income. I only look at business opportunities where I can make at least a six figure income in my first twelve months.
7) Does the Company Give Back?: This is one of those universal laws. If your company gives back, it will come back ten fold and this will trickle down to you. Are they charitable? Are they leaving the world a better place than they found it? This is a reflection of the company management. If you feel good about the company that you're representing chances are people are going to feel good about the product that they're buying from you and your company.
