John from http://www.discountjuicers.com shares with you the 3rd Generation Hurom Slow Juicer. They added the Ultem Screen, Improved DVD and Recipe Booklet. The Coarse Screen is no longer included and the warranty is only 1 year on the unit, with 10 years on the Motor. In this video see how this compares to the Omega VRT330 and Omega VRT350 HD.

  • Can the omega be used to grind coffee or to make soy milk?

  • The Omega VRT will make soy milk, although you will need to cook the milk at some point. Its not designed to grind coffee. The Omega 8004 and 8006 will do that task.

  • Can you buy the "windowwipers" of the hurom as parts? Within a year they are eaten by the fruits...

  • Yes, they can be purchased from the manufacturer. Over long use, I have not seen my wipers wear, but they definitely get discolored.

  • I believe those foods should be viewed more as medicine vs food, so I dont eat them too often. A quick google search with garlic and yoga will reveal some eye opening information.

  • @rawfoods

Why do you rarely eat then? Is something wrong with them (i.e., is there something unhealthful about them)?

  • With only the small hole screen for the Hurom, will it still make banana "icecream"?

  • Thanks John. I upgraded my Hurom HU-100 1st generation with the white plastic screen to the new 3rd generation amber ultem screen. After 18 months of use, the original screen developed cracks. I also had to upgrade the bowl, to be compatible with the new screen. The cost for the new bowl and screen was $85.00.

  • The Hurom is an excellent juicer. The Hurom bowl assembly needs to be periodically soaked in dilute chlorine bleach solution to remove excessive stain build-up and mold. The mold builds up on the silicone wiper blades and plug. The wiper blades and plug need to be removed when soaking. Push inward on the blades and slide them out of their slots for removal.

  • ... When i first started I had no problem removing the fibre with the running water, but then it got stuck and took an effort to remove it. I found that you should NOT juice fibrous things last eg celery I had read that you should so that you get all the juice out that you can from the other less fibrous things BUT this is wrong do the celery near the beginning and then the others like carrots and beets last, they will help push most of it through so no problem cleaning the bowl
