Here is a beautiful song beautifully performed by the fantastic singer Anna Maria Alberghetti.
Anna Maria Alberghetti (born in 1936) is an Italian-born actress and operatic singer (coloratura soprano). While still a young girl, after having made her debut locally in Italy (she began singing professionally at the age of six with a 100 piece orchestra on the Isle of Rhodes) and subsequently toured Italy, Scandinavia, and Spain, she captured the U.S.A. with her wonderful voice, appearing in concert at the Carnegie Hall at the age of fourteen. The New York Times marveled at the child's extraordinary talent and "some of the purest, loveliest sounds that have ever been heard". Success with the New York Philharmonic and other distinguished symphonies followed, paving the way for a career as soloist with outstanding orchestras. Ed Sullivan introduced Anna Maria to television audiences and the public has remained enchanted with her ever since. She appeared with Sullivan a record 53 times. As she matured, the beautiful girl with the angelic voice made her mark in every area of entertainment. She entered into film as a teenager, and has appeared in "The Medium" (1951) with the Metropolitan Opera's great singer Lauritz Melchior, "Here Comes the Groom" (1951) with Bing Crosby, "The Stars Are Shining" (1953) with Rosemary Clooney, "The Last Command" (1955) with Sterling Hayden, "Ten Thousand Bedrooms" (1957) with Dean Martin and as Princess Charmein opposite Jerry Lewis in "Cinderella" (1960). She won a Tony Award in 1962 as Best Actress (Musical) for "Carnival!". Anna Maria has also given illustrious performances on stage in "West Side Story", "The Sound of Music", "Cabaret", "Camelot", "Most Happy Fella", etc. She has also starred at the Las Vegas Desert Inn. Her recording career has included performances for Capitol Records, Columbia Records, Mercury Records and MGM Records.
Enjoy Anna Maria's superb voice and delicate performance!

  • I have posted a comment but I have noticed an error in the story board, and this is the correction. Sterling Hayden and Anna Marie played in the film The Last Command 1955 and it was the true version of the Alimo and the sequence of events leading to the route of the Alimo . Rosemary Clooney was in the film Ten Thousand Bedrooms 1957 with Anna Marie. Jannarta.

  • Thank you very much for your very interesting account and corrections!

  • Where is she now???

  • She had a reputation for always giving her best ("Carnival!" was tremendously demanding and she took direction excellently and quickly expanded both her acting skill and singing flair). She was a great beauty, an impeccable singer and an effective actress. She also could have a temper, but every high-quality artist does. And should! She was tremendously popular and deservedly so.

  • I first came into contact with Anna Maria when she played opposite Sterling Hayden in the true version of the Alimo and Bowie of knife fame. She was excellent as an actor and her singing was enchanting 10 plus, Jannarta.

  • Her version of Star Carol is a stunner. Can't find it anywhere. My family had the same album as Kevierae. It is the sound of Christmas for my childhood.

  • my mom and dad have an old album (I think from Goodyear tires)that features her singing 2 songs "Star Carol" and "Caroling, Caroling"

  • My mother had a very old Christmas variety- artist album. Anna Maria sang "Star Carol." What I'd give to find that song or have it on YouTube. She did have the most beautiful voice!
