A short fretless bass piece for my partner, Anne...it's also another small personal first - trying to make a live video and stand-alone, decent-quality audio recording simultaneously. Maybe, (thanks to my cheap & cheerful Behringer Composer & Korg D1200), it might just about have worked...

I hope, as always, it resonates with someone out there...

  • Great piece, very atmospheric. Hope you're not insulted but it sounds a bit Pink Floyd-ish (which is a compliment)

  • @FurnaceKing1

Thanks for the comment - don't think I could ever be insulted by a comparison with Pink Floyd :-)

You're quite right, there are definite Dave Gilmour-esque bits going on in there...sadly he's not a relative of mine, but has been one of my favourite guitarists for nearly 30 years now, so the occasional influence creeping-in is probably inevitable. :-)

    Cheers!

  • very nice indeed

  • @909techno much obliged - apologies for the delay in replying, my mini-primates seem to devour time... :-)

  • Lovely playing. Subtle and very very nice harmonic chords(?)

  • @fatmessiah and @imharpo, thanks for the encouraging noises - any musician who claims they never need their ego stroking (even a little bit) - is only deluding themselves.. :-)

And yeah, they're harmonic chords - nothing fancy, and having 5 strings definitely helps, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes 'em.

    All the best,

    Andy

  • How pure can you get? This is wonderful. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing. Peace.

  • Hi! Glad you liked the music...more bass & bouzouki over at my website, assuming anyone's interested? :-)

As for the Korg, personally, I do all the editing/mixing/mastering on board, then transfer the final stereo .wav file to the PC for uploading, etc, but you can export individual tracks, so should be able to import them into DAW software..? Might take a while, but sounds like it's worth trying...

    Good luck with that,

    Cheers,

    Andy Gilmour

  • hey man nice song!!!

do you know if its possible to run your d1200 threw your comp and have all the tracks you record come up on your comp?? like pro tools or sumthin

  • Thanks for stopping by and saying nice things :-)

I got my D1200 second-hand, too, and once you get past its...idiosyncrasies...it can be a really effective beastie.

Have a great time with yours!

    Cheers
