The vampirish look of the mantis makes this clip even more scary. The Hummingbird did escape this time, but the mantis did kill another bird about a week later.

  • Ok confused, but why did you flick the mantis? It's starving. Just because the humming bird was retarded enough to run into it doesn't mean you should interfere with nature. Let nature take its course and stop fucking with it. Let me guess, next time you're going to save a giraffe from a pack of lions because the giraffe makes some squeaking sound? Just because the mantis might not be able to make some sympathetic sound doesn't mean his life is any less important than the birds.

  • Oh noes, he interfered with nature. This will be the catalyst for the collapse of an entire ecosystem!!! Butterfly effect! /s

  • Hi, I'm Martin Mantis organizer of the Mantis Project ( we tried to develop a Womantis Project but it didn't fly ).

Anyway, I peruse Youtube videos for examples that are unkind to.....mantises ( or is it manti ? ).

Anyway, again, this is one of them ! Therefore, we must report you to PETA ( stands for Pet Exceptional Talking Aardvarks ).

And, next time, whack the hummingbird and we'll leave you alone !

    Yours truly, Martin

  • Funny how every one thinks nature is peaceful and harmonious, When exactly the opposite is true. Nature is cruel and adversarial. Go into the forest without a weapon and you could very quickly find yourself on the menu. Need proof, grab a squirrel and see how fast your looking for three or four people to help you turn it loose again, as it's biting the crap out of you.
