Twenty days on foot over 180 miles of the Nepalese Himalaya across a 17,769 foot pass. PART TWO: Pokhara to Thorung La pass. Setting foot on the Annapurna trail is like stepping back in time. The trappings and distractions of modern society vanish.
My son and I climbed over Thorong La without incident, then a year later I had emergency open-heart surgery, arteries blocked 94 percent! No WONDER it seemed hard!
My husband and I and our 19 year old son made that trek in 1993. Our oldest son was in the Peace Corps and we took advantage of the situation, he could speak Nepali and could order more than daal bhaat. There was full moon the night we stayed in ABC. We will never forget all that we experienced. I really admired the Nepalese..all muscle! I am so happy that we went then. Namaste and Om Mani Padme Hung.
I sell a on how to do this trek independently. Find it on eBay by searching “Annapurna Circuit DVD”. Check it out. Cristina
