Australia's decision to grant temporary asylum to a boatload of West Papuans has provoked a diplomatic storm. Indonesia is demanding the refugees' return.
"If Australia sends me back to West Papua, I will die", states one asylum seeker. He has already served two years in prison for raising the outlawed West Papuan flag. All the other refugees tell similar stories. But Australia's decision to grant them temporary sanctuary against Jakarta's wishes has damaged its relationship with Indonesia. Jakarta has withdrawn its Ambassador in protest.

@DIJV79 I'm not west papuan im an Ni-van supporting west papuans to get their independence, last i heard Vanuatu caused a major major upset to the Indonesian government by raising the Papuan Flag and we are proud to help our Melanesian brothers, the war is still far from over but we're slowing getting here , and how do i know that West Papua is gonna get their Independence is because God is on our side, like i said we really don't need guns , just have a little faith my friend :)

Why are they dancing and singing fucking songs pick up a gun and fight for your country instead of running to Australia. Nothing is given you have to fight for it, because believe me the Indonesians are.

Very funny my friend, because you only mention the 16 policemen that was killed, but you didn't mention the hundreds of unversities students that was killed before and after the demonstration, which by the way starts off as a peace demonstration...
And why didn't you mention 100.000 people that was killed in the past. why didn't you mention hundred and thousands of tribes that was wiped out over the years.
Know the book not just by it's cover, but read it, then you can criticize it.

what a shame, West Papuans really deserve to be free, In my opinion All POLITICS IS BULLSHIT and only based on money, Someone with the skills should make a movie about this and not skimp on any details when it comes to the horrible massacres commited by the Indonesian army. If the Government has a heart they would let them go but it's all about the fucking MONEY and resources !!!!
