UCR CS134 Video Game Creation & Design - Winter 2009 - "Mars" - a First Person Shooter designed and implemented by Team Brisk from ground up using Blender, OGRE3D and the Bullet physics library. Featuring fully textured enemies, weapons, and levels; enemies using Pathfinding AI; inertial physics and collision detection; special effects such as Concentration (slow motion), night vision, and thermal vision.

  • Yes, OGRE3D is purely a 3D graphics engine. We built the game engine ourselves, running most of the game logic from a FrameListener within the OGRE display loop. We attached the camera to a player entity, and took keyboard/mouse input to allow the player to control its acceleration and orientation. We then incorporated the Bullet physics library to calculate collision detection between the environment and the character entities. We got our hands pretty dirty building the game from ground up. :)
