No Oil In Our Coffee (Original) - By JR

A good friend of mine, Matt Anderson, a photographer who lives in New Orleans, asked me to write a song about the devastating BP's Deepwater Horizon oil spill which is plaguing the Gulf of Mexico right now and the inept response so far by BP's officials. I was glad to do so...sometimes music can be a vehicle to convey people's frustration and maybe help even in a small way, raise the awareness in such a terrible event and how to avoid them in the future.

Here are the lyrics:

We've heard it all from you BP
How your great company is sorry
For giving us the worst oil spill
And how you do know how we feel

We'd like to have our lives back

You said the spill would just be tiny
And you called it a little mistake
When people's lives were at stakes
