The dissent was about her Bush comment only for a few radicals you see in their movie. Hell, everybody criticizes the Prez. Her bashing of others was already known before her London bash. It was the fact it was a disingenuous statement that belitteld what many americans were having to do, regardless of their own opinion, and doing it to a foreign audience only to gain favor there. Freedom of speech has never meant freedom from consequences. Confusing those two is pathetic.

i really just dont understand what the big deal was/is all she did was speak her mind...Pink the singer did it in the song dear mister president around the same time and people loved it and why defend Old George anyways he really wasnt that great of a president...all he did was make our economy go to shit with all the money he spent and it seems like he wants to try to fill his dads shoes but all i can say is.....well it was worth a shot but he failed....miserably

@colfaxdave They never stood firm on anything. Immediately after her comment in London, she apologized and spent almost a year denying it was a true sentiment. When it would serve her better, she decided she would say she meant it, since denying it didn't get her fans back. That's called being DISINGENUOUS, and the real reason they were dismissed by so many prior fans. Many people spoke out, but none did so purely for profit like Natalie Maines. She's an idiot, just like you.

@colfaxdave Fortunately for you, the DC past CD's cost less than TK's except for his original back in 93'. So, its no real financial strain. They aren't touring with the Eagles, they are guest artists for a few shows. Maybe you can share how many of those shows the DC's will do that have both the Eagles AND Urban in attendance? LOL. Two weeks before the DC's hit the stage in Canada, who is there to suck up the concert money? After London, they lost nearly all their original fan base...millions.

The Dixie Chicks' vitriolic bile spewing public temper tantrum was more reactionary than the self propagandized dissent they pretend to reject. Their three year propaganda campaign, including the SUAS movie, was a penultimate model of disingenuous behaviour. They spent years simultaneously claiming victim status while publicly bashing people and organizations that, in some cases, had expressed little or no opinion of them whatsoever ie Red Cross &, the View. They are gone and for good reason.
