JS1 Revelation

With a dream of the perfect sailplane the JS-1 project started in 1999. The name "Revelation" was added later when the amount of work involved in creating a high performance sailplane was indeed a revelation! The final result -- best performance in its class, superb handling, pristine workmanship, oustanding safety and surprising affordability -- will be a revelation in itself to customers from around the globe.

The company Jonker Sailplanes was formally founded in 2004 by brothers Attie and Uys Jonker and Johan Bosman. Attie & Uys are both South African National Soaring Team members.

Since the last few years the JS1 is competing in National and International Gliding Championships. The Top of the World's best Glider Pilots are flying the JS1. This resulted in a 2nd place of Uys Jonker in his JS1 at the last World Gliding Championships 2010 in Szeged, Hungary. Five JS1 ended in the top 10.
