Bodhran players aren't always the most welcomed session visitors - but then they don't all play like John Jo. Here he earns his pint at a session in County Clare, Nov.2006

  • Ooooh- hold on a minute --- I only meant every session should have a John Jo ---not a bodhran---unless played at this standard of course!

  • John Joe is indeed the cac, but it is an absolute fact, no one has ever uttered the sentance, "this sessiun needs more bodhran!"

  • name of the tune, please???

  • @onearmfrog absolutely

  • @VikingLawyer Goat lover.

  • @onearmfrog i'm a bodhran player and i've said it

  • I like bodhrán when it's well played (like here). I'm use to play in a duet with a flute, fiddle of accordion player (I play the bouzouki). When we can have a 3rd musician, he will generally be a bodhrán player.

  • As a Bodhran player, I completely second that :)

  • Ha Ha I'm glad you pointed that out...!

  • the session was in the ralway bar in ennis in 2006. it also had neil lyons, paul mcnevin, noely ryan...
