I'm sure that this clip is already posted on YouTube, but not in it's entirety. In this clip, you'll see the classic Bentson exchange in full. Incidentally, this clip was posted on the quote's 20th anniversary.

  • God Quayle is a fucking idiot.

  • I think it was obvious that Bentsen had been itching for a chance to say that throughout the debate. I think Poppy made a smart move choosing Quayle as his VP because it discouraged people from wanting to assassinate him.

  • Quayle should have shot back, "I know Ronald Reagan. President Reagan is a friend of mine. You, sir, are no Ronald Reagan."

  • Classic

  • "Blessed are the morons (like me and Dan), for they shall be made brilliant." -- J.C.

P.S. Dan Quayle isn't really a moron, though I myself do struggle, I'll admit it.

P.P.S. Say what you want, but THAT really was mean of Bentsen.

  • @UndisputedRoach He looks like he stepped out of "Wall Street."

  • Zing

  • @BlueEnvoy4413

True, he was the man to be a president.

Had he fought Bush sr., he would have won.

  • Dan Quayle looked like the clear definition on what it means to be an elitist disconnected WASP in the 80s.

  • LOL, Quayle looked like he was going to cry.
