Im willing to take responsibility for this, i looked across the roundabout but for some reason I registered that the Mini was turning off 1 exit before it did, please let me know your thoughts :) Also, I do raise my left hand and apologise.

Thanks

  • After watching this a few times I see that the indicator of the mini comes on at the correct time. The code advises you indicate to leave the roundabout at the junction before your intended exit, not on it. Also, as someone else says the mini positioning is correct for the exit it took. The mini also does the correct thing by tooting as he slows to allow your mistake to not be life threatening. That's my opinion, thanks for asking.

  • It's much safer to drive in Oslo. NOBODY ever uses their indicators anyway! Everyone ends up sitting until the car has done what its going to do. REAL SMOOTH. NOT.

  • Yes, the Mini's indicators ahem, indicated that he was exiting earlier but his speed and road position screamed that he wasn't. If you were using a pedestrian crossing , would you cross the second the green man "indicated" it was safe to cross or would you use your eyes and ears to assess what is actually happening with the traffic around you?

The great thing is that you've learned this lesson at 20mph with no harm done ;0)

  • In the eyes of the law an indication means nothing, you drive/ride in accordance with what actually happening at the time. Not by presuming a drivers intentions by an indicator. The video is a great example of a bad indication.Pulling out was a mistake,a mistake we've all made at some point in the past, just as long as you learn from it you'll be a better rider

  • It costs, what, 5-10 seconds to just stop, give way and make sure. I always edge on the side of stopping as it's just not worth a collision. Don't rely on anyone else to get it right as the majority of drivers are poor and even the good ones have off moments.

  • The mini's indicate was appalling. But i think you may have been able to do a better check before going for it. That check would have highlighted you to the fact that the muppet was indicating incorrectly.

  • Yeah seems that the mini indicated early so you can't really be blamed...anyway you had enough time to stay ahead so no harm done.

  • Indicated a little too early, I hate roundabouts for the purpose people don't indicate or have lack of skills of using their indicator correctly, it was a minor mistake, no one was hurt, just remember be more careful, I've made these mistakes, you're only a learn and you'll learn from the mistakes and deal with the situation better next time

  • u cut him up he was on the round about first. . .

  • Looking back at it its easier to say but from his position on the roundabout you can tell he's not taking the exit before.

One of the main things I learnt on my driving test is that signals only tell half the story the other is road position.
