In this video the YikeBike is put through 16 challenging tests that shows the its rigidity, power, speed, acceleration and maneuverability. Some of these test are not recommended for day to day use they are simply a demonstration to test the capabilities of the YikeBike.

Below are the time and test in order:
00:04s Test #1 Over cattle stop and through a medium sized pot hole

  • How much weight can it handle ??

  • @halcyon0830 100kg (220 lb)

  • Very similar to a normal bike - it pays to watch out for big pot holes. I've certainly been avoiding a few in San Francisco today! But it is no problem going around or slowing down.

  • ...get someone who actually knows how to ride a bicycle as the competitor...

  • @WeRWun it's not supposed to be a competition but to show the YikeBike performance relative to something that people are familiar with.

  • how fast does it go in mph? and whats the weight limit?

  • @birdman9564 14 mph (23 kmph, 220 lb (100kg) weight limit

  • The point is not to show it is better than a bike but to show it in comparison to something people are familiar with. The point is to also show that the YikeBike can easily handle city commuting

  • la comparación se deba hacer con un dispositivo similar no con una bicicleta... sin embargo funciona muy bien y ya quiero mi YikeBike, jujuju

  • Hmm i wonder if there is a hidden comertial in here somwhere :p

Damn apple.. Why dont u call it ibike instead? -.-

  • What's the battery duration?

  • @Innomen I know they have carbon fiber ones (the more expensive one) and aluminum ones (the cheaper one). Still both are far to expensive to be worth it to me. The portability is cool though.

  • dear yikebike my birthday is 20 nov so you maybe know what i want?Xd

  • Looking at this video I'm amazed at the strength/flexibility/lightweight of carbon fiber.

  • I can't believe how negative people are to new ideas...I hope it's a success and that you guys become great innovators

  • I notice that some of the testing was done just up the road from where I live...typically poor condition roads in Christchurch...even before all the earthquakes! I saw some of these things cruising around Hagley Park last Summer...I really like the look of them

  • complimenti ... idea fantastica .... Bravi

  • i can bet that the weakest point is the battery which can last for... 1h?
