What the heck is it? Got drawn to another YouTube lecture titled "New Techniques for Acquiring, Rendering, and Displaying Human Performances"
and halfway through the lecture about ways to capture realisim in CG, the speaker demos this light room. In the middle is a rotating treadmill, and a person would walk/run on it. All the lights fire from different directions, and a high speed camera captures images of the subject, so a full lighting map is created for any purpose needed in the CG.
