Finished the EICO vacuum tube oscilloscope and trying it out.
I did most of the calibrations, I think there are a few more steps I need to finish.
Thanks for watching

  • Very cool! You did a good job restoring it.

I just bought myself a 460 yesterday to restore. Wish me luck!

  • @chjade84 Thanks man :) it took a bit to get it looking decent. I also had to replace a lot of resistors. Didn't know before this they go bad just sitting unused.

Awesome you found one. Do you know if it works? If you have trouble finding tubes, there's an electronic store where I live that still has a few big boxes of NOS...I can see if they have anything. Btw, do you have a variac & a signal generator?

Eventually would like to get a signal generator :)

  • Mate thats just awesome! What an excellent job you've done of restoring it man, and seeing it in action makes me REALLY want to get a scope lol! Wicked vid man, and again, well done!!

  • @TheDamoMonster Thanks Damo :) Definitely pick one up. There should be some good ones out there used/new that are cheap or affordable. Just have to make some time and try some stuff out on it :)

  • I love it. It would make a great prop for a 50's style sci-fi home movie :D

  • @atarileaf Thanks J! That was plan 'B' ..ahem...if things didn't work out hehe ;)

btw, great pick on your latest video :)

  • @thomas3120 Not too sure on the details... I got it on ebay and the guy said it's "in good condition" - so hopefully that means it at least turns on. I would imagine it will need some work though.

I can "borrow" a variac from work but as far as a signal generator I may just use a computer. I haven't really thought through any of the details yet. lol

I'll keep ya posted and definitely let you know if I run into issues.

    Thanks!

  • @thomas3120 Tired but things are good Thomas thanks for asking. : )

  • @Utoobyourself Thanks Alex :) now just need to learn how to use it hehe (or different ways to use it..)

  • @jboypacman Thanks Jboy! hope all is good with you :)

  • @WorthyouruniverseHD lol! ooooooohhhhhhhhhh ma.. booooyyyy hehe Maybe early pong systems. Ah..actually remember seeing a video of someone playing pong on this same one

  • @RetroGameTech Thanks Martin! :) Definitely a great tool to have. If you find one cheap that works, go for it.
