@kanguesso From my perspective Anderson is on a whole different level than the most guys.
Und on the way to Anderson. Maia beat a lot of wel rounded MMA players.
So being really good in one discipline might noth be that bad.
However i think you should have the skills to noth geth beat up in the stadiums where you are noth so well.

@SethDMcWilliams You misunderstand, My point was that Maia is an elite BJJ practitioner who was pretty much horrible at everything else and although his BJJ got him to a tittle fight, it wasn't good enough to win him the tittle against the elite of the elite in Anderson Silva, Someone who stuffed Maia's horrible takedown attempts and completely exposed his lack of "well roundedness" if you will. The key is to be so well rounded that you don't have to rely on anyone SINGLE discipline.

@kanguesso Takedowns are also part of Jiu Jitsu. So you're saying that actually BJJ "ALONE" can get one very far, and then once one makes it to a title fight, like Maia did, one just needs to improve his takedown aspect of BJJ in order to dominate completely?

@SethDMcWilliams I meant that BJJ ALONE won't get you far in today's MMA. Yes Maia made it to the Tittle fight, and did you see what happened to him? He was embarrassed. He couldn't bring the fight to the ground where he could be most affective because his takedown sucks.

I love the fact that they teach together. Very few co-taught classes run as smoothly as their classes do. I commend you guys for working so well together.
