After researching Off grid living low cost eco friendly homes I have decided to go for it. Cost of construction is low, cost of running the home is low and from what I can see the joy of living that lifestyle is very high. Excellent testimonial!

It depends on how you want to do it, I saw a vid the other day where someone had built their own wind turbine for $400. Look up DIY wind turbine...

My utility bills are 150 a month.
I wonder what the panels. Diesel, propane ect ect ect is costing these folks?
A blend of grid and off grid seems to be a better solution. You can buy a lot of hydroelectric produced power for the price of this set up......

@albc1964 As far as the internet situation, one can use Wi Fi for free in many places. Television is simply not needed. I get my news a day late, I read yesterdays newspaper when others are done with it.

Still I like your comment especially considering the fact electronic waste has become a very serious deeply affecting life as we know on Earth problem.
