The is much respect and admiration for those that edited on film, but good god how tedious. The brilliance of editing digitally (or even by tape) is the quick turn around time between when you think of a sequence of shots to assembling them to see the result. And especially seeing if it works or not. I can not imagine going through all that one must go through editing a sequence on film and then realizing that it does not work and needs to be redone. Much respect to those who edit on film.
I remember doing this. It helped if you were obsessed.
