Dizzy Gillespie and quintet recorded in 1965 to coincide with the release of the album Dizzy on The French Riviera, with Kenny Barron replacing Lalo Schifrin on piano.
Trumpet - Dizzy Gillespie
Saxaphone/Flute - James Moody
Bass - Christopher White
Piano - Kenny Barron
Drums - Rudy Collins
One of Dizzy's greatest solos, in my opinion. The consistency of the great bassist Chris White made it work as well as the teamwork between them. The clarity of thought is what strikes me most. It is easy to follow the structure and the harmony is clear throughout. Sometimes, less is best. Thanks, for a masterpiece, Chano and Dizzy.
