  • Most people on here are dissin Wayne Otto

people should do reserch b4 running there mouth, Wayne Otto is 9x WORLD champion, he is a nice guy, he is also the england karate coach.

Also people say Point Sarring is useless and that UFC style is better, dont forget about our blinding speed if we hit u first right in the nose your eyes will water and we can do whatever we want after that, and our hits are not soft i broke 2 people ribs in competitions before i was even a blue belt so shut you traps

  • They stop after each point ... Boring and impractical

  • At the end of the day, point sparring is sport karate and isn't the full package of karate. Just like judo. Being a master of point sparring by no means makes anybody who does it great at stand up fighting, it just adds to the other training karatekas do. Karate is both an art form and a sport, and should be respected as such. also @TheTerrorUforgot i absolutely agree with you. It is never the martial art that is better, it is the individual.

  • @yojimdo45 well thankyou for not hating on otto he is my idol, also i dont dissagree that a person who concentrates on grappeling only would beat someone who only does it a liitle but all i was trying to say was that we do have a ground game and we only do it to get back on our feet where we work best, we would not go into a fight looking for it to go to the ground if u know what i mean

  • @peterbf91 First of all, im not hating on Otto, but dont say Karate's bnot exsistant ground game would even come close to an experienced grappler.

  • @yojimdo45 im far from poo "bud" you have to get me on my back and as i have better balence and control with my legs thanx to karate thats not an easy task, and yes in sport karate there is no ground work but in KARATE there is, after you reach 1st dan you learn..well i guess its a form of jiu-jitsu and its bloody awesome, all i was doing was sticking up for my idol wayne otto and i will do till asses like you stop dissin him.

  • @peterbf91 lol your poo bud.. see how effective your punching is off your back chump.

  • I really just figure that talking down on another style or form really can show your ignorance of it. All martial artists should overlap their training with a kind of Jeet Kune Do mentality, knowing what works for them, and not saying there is a wrong style and right style for fighting. That sort of thinking limits your growth as a martial artist.

A lot of the parts UFC has (cross-training, more open combat rules, introducing the public to grappling arts) are great, but not all of fighting.

  • @TheTerrorUforgot im liking the replys your givin me mate, lol, go on son lol

  • That's funny, considering a two current UFC champs are karateka, one Kyokushin (Georges St. Pierre) and the other Shotokan (Lyoto Machida)

  • @TheTerrorUforgot good point, there would be no point but still people continue to rant on about how UFC is great and karate is shit, i wish they would just go and die
