Jake and Paulina Before the Hearing--Enter Cass and Jamie

Jake and Paulina steal some time before the hearing. Paulina asks Jake to promise her that the next time he sees Jamie, he won't rub Jamie's nose in the situation. Jake says that's hard to do, to which Paulina replies that that's a character flaw. They get flirty, but Paulina gets serious again when she asks Jake to be civil to Jamie. Jake agrees. Paulina tells Jake that she doesn't know what Jake is going to say in the hearing and she doesn't want him to tell her, but she's never going to be able to convince her family Jake has changed if he's constantly trying to challenge them when he sees them. Jake replies that he gets it, but he's not going to lie like a rug in the hearing if they come after him first. Paulina tells Jake she'll be watching him. Jake says that no matter what he says in there, somebody's going to get hurt, and he thinks he might mess things up for Jamie if he tells the truth. Paulina says if Jake tells the truth, Jamie wins, but Jake replies that he thinks they're talking about two different truths. Paulina gets angry and asks Jake, "You're not going to tell the panel you edited that tape, are you?" She tells Jake that the truth might be a little up in the air here, but one thing is for sure: Jake messed things up for Jamie and Kelsey when he made that tape and sent it to the hospital board, and Jake has to own up for that. Jake says he's not going to waffle on this, and Paulina warns him that if this is a backhanded way to-- She abruptly stops talking when Cass and Jamie enter the room, and then joins them in looking at Jake.
