Title: CHANGES IN THE VOICE
Date: 07.22.2009
Coach: Brett Manning
Artist: Dallas West

Tags: brett manning, singing success online, vocal break, technique, method, lessons, changes in the voice, dallas west

Description:
Directed by: Jeremy Spencer

Dallas West recently came to Brett with one of the most common vocal problems; the vocal break. Dallas break is unique because his voice is just beginning to mature. Even so, there are many people who experience this same break in later stages of vocal maturity or due to vocal tissue damage.

Brett shows Dallas how to work through his difficulties in order to strengthen his voice and learn from his mistakes. Brett gives some effective exercises that help him sing without cracking. This lesson is great for anyone who is dealing with an adolescent voice.

  • Haha. Now it's papa. Before. Mama.

  • @hobo1975 He's not. Brett Manning may produce slightly "wimpy" singers, but he certainly does not produce injured voices.

  • @BOBDIRT3221 ahahah really?

  • Jesus Christ!!!!! I go to high school with this kid!

  • I'm gonna say it is just you, boy doesn't look scared to me at all!

  • Is it just me or did that boy look scared haha

  • Ran out of chracters. Anyway, $250 an hour!? Thats pretty rediculous. This lesson is some philosophy and singing to a scale. Many of the videos I have watched describe the same similar problem and add some words to stretch it out. And it really is not a very surprising lesson. Plus the kid started warming up so it seemed like rapid improvement, but real muscle development takes time and training. Blathering at this point, anyway just keep practicing and don't believe in shortcuts!

  • From the few weeks of research I have done, it seems that the most common mistake is to tense up when you try to sing high notes. The word "yawn" puts the vocal chords in a good shape to project the air being pushed from your diaphram. Becuase you are pushing air with your diaphram, pressure is released from your vocal chords, which allows you to keep them loose, and therefore, hit the note more fully! The notes you want to hit come from your mind, and the muscles respond based on muscle memory.

  • 250$ a hr!!O.O!...man he must be rich then,it'd b cool to have that job..but at the same time u would need a lot of patience and love for the subject as well.

  • poor boy, getting his voice ruined.
