  • i have the fs10.....video and audio quality is great but if you plug it into your computer , it has to also be plugged into an outlet which is stupid

  • yes.. it's incredibly annoying!!! In fact I usually use an SD card.. Hope that they will fix it with a firmware change...

  • which software do you use to get to sw decode immediatly 16:9 so I will buy it emmediatly .

  • imagine: it's free :)

Mpeg Streamclip, both for mac and pc.

you can also play with aspect ratio and cropping during the export phase, to make a 16:9 in 4:3 and viceversa

  • Just use a good stand and zoom with the remote, you'll see that your videos will be clearer.

And.. anyway, upload a 640x480 file, in mp4 format, even better if h264 coding

  • I wonder why when I shot movies with my fs 100

with 16:9 the video coming out is not natural and with this I mean if you make a video to people in 16/9 they look tall and thiny and I wonder qhy put on the market a video problem like this I discover it after two minute I bougth it so I wonder Why Canon engeneer did'nt resolve it - the problem doesn't come out if you record video on normal scren 4/3

anybody of you found the same problem and qhich way you resolve it

  • I Think you're simply messing up with settings.

IF you're talking about how you see this directly on a TV, you should set the "TV aspect" settings on 4:3in play mode.

If you got this problem on your PC, probably you're not using the correct software for the mpeg file, because Canon writes the 16:9 bit in an unusual way that only few sw decode immediatly.

Please do some more tests, mine (so I think your) is ok on the aspect ratio

  • cant it record in 16:9?

  • try to get a software that can do the file to a file that windows movie maker can take..

  • But you shouldn't be using windows movie maker anyway!

  • wtf is that guy doing in the street?

  • It works with it. Just rename the file .MPG instead of .MOD

  • Can this camera be used as a capture card? Thanks in advance!

  • i just got this camera but it wont work with windows movie maker....what should i use instead?
