I thought this was going to be Up The Creek because of the water on the map, but it turned out to be what ended up being level 4 in the finished game. Not seeing many differences here, but I'm sure the viewers can point them out.
Regarding the "no boxes on the boulder path", maybe the devs hadn't decided whether to have the boulder get them for you if you miss them (as in Crash 2), or have it skip over them. (As it does in the final version of this game).
Another difference of the prototype might be Crash being able to have up to only nine lives, as seen in 1:00.

There are no boxes on Boulders paths as an user said.
So, this level is much easier than the actual Boulders =P

On the Wumpa path theres usually 2 boxes away from the path, but in this theres no boxes around that area.
