@00Mass00 Using the smaller standard U.S. spec intakes are a little restrictive. I prefer the 50mm intakes vw made, they have long runners that will give you a lot of low end torque with a turbo. Lots of advantages to this style of intake though. It's out and away from the rising heat of the engine, the shorter runners have less resistance, and with the TB being up front on the right side you don't have to run IC piping all over the place.

why change the intake manifold? is it because the stock manifold gives to much air resistance? I see lot of people changing the manifold but also see people who keep the stock (also with turbokit)
