What a great delight to learn about the historical facts of this famous part of teochew opera.Thank you so much for this.What about 陈三五娘？ Is the story also based on history?

correction: I should say "this song is a Singapore modified version" of classical Teochew opera by the same title. Obviously, "Au-kang" is a strong Teochew district in Singapore, not in China. :) The classical Teochew opera was based on historical places in Teochew prefecture of Jieyang and Chaoyang (Kieg-ie and Tie-ie in Tiechew dialect.)
